Now, on to the picks…

✅ START: Matthew Golden (GB) @ Lions

Golden’s second-year breakout is officially here, and Week 7 gives him one of the best matchups on the board.

  • Has cleared 100 receiving yards in half his games and is on pace for 1,400-plus yards and eight touchdowns

  • Detroit has already given up 19-plus fantasy points to four different wideouts, and it’s been one of the NFL’s weakest defenses against both WRs and QBs

  • The projected game total is in the low-to-mid 50s at Ford Field, the kind of shootout script where a deep threat thrives

He has scored 15-plus PPR points in four of six games, so start him as an upside WR2 who can win your week.

🚫 SIT: Josh Downs (IND) @ Vikings

The Colts’ WR1 job was supposed to belong to Downs, but the production hasn’t come with it for a multitude of reasons.

  • Hasn’t topped 8.7 PPR points in any of his last three games and averages just 8.9 per game on the season

  • Minnesota allows the fifth-fewest fantasy points to wideouts (18.4 PPG) and the fourth-lowest EPA per target, and it has been the toughest defense in the league against quarterbacks

  • Week 6 brought two bad drops, a bobble that turned into a Daniel Jones interception, and a tweaked shoulder

Until Alec Pierce returns or Jones finds his footing, Downs is a low-ceiling WR3 you can safely bench. Find a better option!

✅ START: Germie Bernard (PIT) @ Saints (Paris)

Bernard went from preseason backup to one of Aaron Rodgers’ go-to targets in a matter of weeks.

  • 21 targets over his last two games, with 80-plus yards in both

  • Week 6 line: 11 catches, 87 yards and a game-winning overtime touchdown for 25.7 PPR points. Per multiple news outlets, that’s the most catches by a Rodgers rookie receiver ever

  • Ran a route on 35 of 38 dropbacks in Week 5 with Michael Pittman Jr. sidelined

Against a Saints secondary allowing generous production to wideouts, his route share and growing target load make him a strong WR2 play in Paris.

🚫 SIT: Emeka Egbuka (TB) @ Panthers

Egbuka is Tampa Bay’s alpha receiver, but the quarterback situation keeps capping what he can do with that role.

  • Week 6 turned 16 targets into just 48 yards as Jalon Daniels repeatedly missed him, including a would-be long touchdown

  • Hasn’t topped 64 receiving yards in a game since Week 10 of last season

  • Carolina allows the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game to wideouts and the seventh-lowest EPA per target

With Baker Mayfield’s thumb injury clouding the QB picture, his floor is too fragile to trust this week.

Up next: the hottest receiver in fantasy football, and a matchup that should keep him rolling.

✅ START: Malik Nabers (NYG) @ Texans

Fully ramped up from last year’s torn ACL, Nabers is back to looking like a league-winner.

  • Leads all receivers over his last three games at 26.9 PPR points per game, with three straight 100-yard outings

  • Coming off a 12-catch, 165-yard day on 15 targets in Week 6

  • Houston is surrendering 33.6 fantasy points per game to wideouts and 246 passing yards per game

Whether Jameis Winston or J.J. McCarthy starts, Nabers is playing like an elite separator, and he’s a locked-in WR1 this week.

🚫 SIT: Carnell Tate (TEN) vs. Browns

The No. 4 overall pick has flashed real talent, but his weekly outcomes have been all over the map.

  • Two games of 19-plus PPR points, but four under 12, including a 1.6-point dud in Week 5

  • This game has a week-low 38.5 over/under, and Cam Ward entered Week 6 averaging just 179 passing yards per game

  • Cleveland has been one of the 10 toughest defenses in the NFL against both receivers and quarterbacks

Tate’s time is coming, but in what projects as the lowest-scoring game of the week, the bust risk is too high to start him.

That’s the list. Set your lineups, and we’ll be back tomorrow with the RB edition.
