Breece Hall (NYJ): Hall (quad) is “unlikely” to play against Miami. He returned to practice Wednesday but never got in a full session, so the Jets will give him another week to ramp up, with a Week 8 return vs. the Raiders in view. Braelon Allen draws the start again and sits near the top of the RB2 ranks. (Ian Rapoport)

J.J. McCarthy (NYG): McCarthy is expected to stay the starter beyond the Week 8 bye after lighting up the Saints for 243 yards in the fourth quarter of Week 6. It’s an extended audition. A strong stretch could make him Jaxson Dart’s backup next year or offseason trade bait. (Ian Rapoport)

Cam Skattebo (NYG): Skattebo is expected to resume his lead-back role against Houston after being benched for fumbling last week, when he got zero touches. Najee Harris has since been cut. Still, it’s unclear who starts, and a committee is likely, so treat him as a high-risk RB3 at best. (Ian Rapoport)

Christian Kirk (SF): Kirk was activated from IR (calf). With the 49ers’ top four receivers unavailable, he could skip the usual pitch count and step right into a full-time role alongside Brandin Cooks and Jordan Watkins. He’s a long-shot FLEX in his 49ers debut.

Brian Thomas Jr. (JAX): Several teams believe the Jaguars could trade Thomas in the coming weeks after back-to-back games without a catch. The Chiefs and Steelers were named as potential suitors. For fantasy managers, a change of scenery is hard to see as anything but an upgrade. (Jeremy Fowler)
