Now, on to the picks…

Week 1 gave you the perfect buying window. Here are five names whose national perception is low, but the underlying profile says otherwise. Grab them before more game action changes the price.

QB: Drake Maye (NE)

Maye's stock is as low as it will ever be after a three-interception second half in the opener, and it's the exact wrong time to sell.

  • Threw 3 picks in a 13-10 loss to Seattle's defense, including a really bad looking throw that was intercepted in the end zone at the end of the game

  • Finished 2025 as the overall fantasy QB2 and MVP runner-up, leading the NFL in yards per attempt (8.9), true passer rating (116.3), QBR (77.2), and completion rate (72.0%)

  • Lots of perception tied to an easy 2025 slate suggesting Maye benefitted from the easy schedule, but he still ranked top-5 in intended air yards and deep ball attempts, proving the arm talent is real regardless

One shaky week against a stout defense doesn't undo a season that made him the league's second-best fantasy QB. Buy the name before the price catches up to the talent, even with A.J. Brown on I.R. for at least the next four games.

WR: Luther Burden (CHI)

Burden's Week 1 line looks pedestrian, but his role says the breakout clock is still ticking.

  • Caught all 5 of his targets for 63 yards despite a first-quarter fumble, finishing second on the team in looks

  • He's a favorite to lead the Bears in targets and receiving categories following the DJ Moore trade, pairing his 2nd-ranked yards-per-route-run (2.62) from his rookie year with a projected snap spike in 2026

  • Remains tied to Caleb Williams and HC Ben Johnson, with new OC Press Taylor expected to further expand his usage… Williams was sensational on Sunday.

The volume floor is still forming, but a 2nd-year receiver with elite efficiency in a top-tier offense is worth scooping up while the market shrugs off a quiet opener.

RB: Cam Skattebo (NYG)

Skattebo didn't just play well, he made the Giants’ backfield hierarchy crystal clear in Week 1.

  • Out-touched the competition badly: 18 carries to Devin Singletary's 6 and Tyrone Tracy's 2, en route to 81 yards and a touchdown

  • Projected as the lead back over Tracy and Singletary entering the season, with new HC John Harbaugh expected to run a workhorse, ground-heavy scheme

  • Now has 8 total touchdowns in just 9 career games, and Week 1 showed zero lingering effects from last year's ankle injury, plus a favorable 2026 strength-of-schedule bump for the Giants' run game

If you were worried about the ankle or the crowded backfield, Week 1 answered both questions, and if his owner is still worried, this is the clearest workhorse signal in the league right now.

WR: George Pickens (DAL)

Don't let a quiet box score fool you. Pickens was doing damage even when the ball wasn't coming his way.

  • Caught 3-of-6 targets for just 28 yards, but drew a key defensive pass interference penalty that set up a CeeDee Lamb touchdown

  • Coming off a career year: overall fantasy WR5 in points per game (17.2), career highs in catches (93), yards (1,429), and touchdowns (9) as the clear 1B behind Lamb

  • According to Reception Perception, he posts elite success rates regardless of man coverage or zone… elite tools that show up even in a low-target game

The Cowboys only ran 52 offensive plays in the Week 1 loss, which capped the box score more than anything Pickens did wrong. The talent and role are unchanged, and a Week 2 home matchup against Washington is a nice bounce-back setup.

WR: Drake London (ATL)

London's Week 1 line was a QB problem, not a London problem, and that's precisely what makes this a buy window.

  • Managed just 2 catches for 29 yards on 4 targets, but still played 60 of 61 snaps and ran a route on 28 of 29 dropbacks… full-time usage that produced nothing because of the passer

  • He was notably better with Michael Penix Jr. under center last season, and Cooper Rush was inefficient in Week 1

  • Ian Rapoport reports Penix (knee) is targeting a Week 2 or Week 3 return, and he practiced in full last week… a real chance London gets his preferred QB back soon

London remains the unquestioned WR1 in target share and dominator rating; once Penix takes over, the per-game efficiency that made him a WR6 last year should follow.

That’s the list. 5 players you can make a bid for ahead of Week 2, and expect much better play than we got in the season debut.
