Every draft has a few names that just make sense on paper: new role, new offense, or new situation lining up perfectly. Here are four you need on your radar at every position, one pick at a time.
WR: Christian Watson (GB)
Watson quietly turned in one of the most efficient receiver seasons in football last year, and now the target tree is clearing out in front of him.
Finished as fantasy's overall WR46, but ranked 15th in points per game (13.2), totaling 611 yards and 6 TDs in just 10 games.
Ranked 4th in the NFL in Yards Per Route Run (2.65), yards per target (11.1), and yards per catch (17.5) in 2025.
Green Bay handed him a 4-year, $110.5 million extension this June while letting both Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks walk in free agency… clearing the runway for a bigger target share.
Elite efficiency plus a suddenly wide-open target tree is how a WR46 becomes a league-winner in 2026.
TE: Colston Loveland (CHI)
Loveland took time to get going as a rookie, but by the second half of the season he looked like a different player entirely.
Exploded for 47-597-6 over his final 10 games, finishing as the overall TE12 as a rookie.
Set to be Chicago's alpha target earner after the DJ Moore trade to Buffalo, with an already-established rapport with Caleb Williams.
Ranked 6th in Yards Per Route Run (1.96) and 9th in yards per target (8.8) with only one drop all season, including an 8-catch, 137-yard playoff explosion against Green Bay.
With the target competition gone and Ben Johnson's offense (the same system that produced Sam LaPorta's TE1 rookie year) fully intact, Loveland has a real path to leading all tight ends in fantasy scoring.
RB: Kenneth Walker (KC)
Walker left Seattle after establishing himself as one of the league's premier tacklebreakers, and Kansas City might be the best fit he could've asked for.
Signed a 3-year, $45 million deal ($28.7M guaranteed) to lead the Chiefs' backfield after Isiah Pacheco's departure.
Led the NFL in juke rate (31.7%) and ranked 6th in evaded tackles (80) in 2025.
Joins an offense that ranked 31st in the league in 15+ yard runs last season, and Walker himself is the league's RB3 in explosive runs since 2022, now running behind an elite interior offensive line.
Big-play ability meeting a offense starving for explosive runs is exactly the kind of landing spot that turns a committee back into a league-winner.
QB: Justin Herbert (LAC)
Herbert put together a QB10 finish last season under about as much duress as a quarterback can face — and the entire supporting cast around him just got an upgrade.
Finished as the overall QB10 (18.7 PPG) in 2025 (3,727 yards and 26 touchdowns) while playing through a broken bone in his non-throwing hand that required surgery.
The Chargers hired Mike McDaniel as OC to replace Greg Roman, signaling a shift away from a run-heavy scheme toward a more efficient, creative passing attack.
Left tackle Rashawn Slater and tackle Joe Alt are both back healthy after season-ending injuries in 2025 that contributed to a career-high 54 sacks allowed.
